I am so happy we found the urology place, my husband had a robotic prostatectomy and I never doubted for a moment that he was in the best hands! Or lack-there-of haha! Now a year later we still have been receiving incredible care! We are extremely lucky and I believe that is due to Dr. Kella and his amazing staff!
Your life takes a dramatic turn when you hear that you have prostate cancer. I took a long time deciding which path to take for my treatment, and I did my homework. At first I was sure that I wanted to avoid surgery but the more I learned the more I understood that it is the best way to completely eradicate the cancer. After meeting with Dr. Kella and reading how respected he was in the field I felt sure that the robotic prostatectomy was the way to go. Dr. Kella made me feel confident and relaxed about the procedure. Now that I am 17 months out from my surgery, I am so thankful I decided to go this direction. You can rest assured that you are in good hands with the team at The Urology Place. I was back in action quickly and a year and a half later I am still cancer-free with a minimum of side effects. The robotic prostatectomy is a miracle of modern medicine and Dr. Kella is the best in the business!
I made the right choice when presented with a choice of two Doctor's in the state of Texas. My first consultation before my surgery eased my mind with the presentation in his office. His staff is courteous and caring. It's a team effort and that really says a lot about Dr. Kella. His professionalism and interest in his patients speaks volumes about the care you will receive. It's been a little over a year now since my surgery and I am still receiving the fantastic care from the team.
Dr Kella is the best!! My husband went in for a routine check up in January and to our surprise was diagnosed with prostate cancer at only 53 years young!! We were floored by this his was a score of 8 that is pretty aggressive, so the only real option was to remove his prostate. This is pretty devastating for a young man married, what will happen. The Dr in Austin that did the biopsy does not do robotic surgery. This is the way to go for this type if surgery. He then referred us to another Dr in Austin Texas, they couldn't even see him for 6 weeks. We just didn't have a good feeling about him ,a friend referred us to Dr Kella. I called on a friday and we had an appointment the following Tuesday!! The staff was very courteous, Then we meet Dr Kella, he was so kind and answered all our questions we never felt rushed. We had the surgery June 4th everybody at the hospital had nothing but great things to say about Dr Kella and his team. This really put our minds at ease. We are now here for our post op appointment. If you have to have this surgery I highly recommend Dr Kella.
"I had the first beautiful, painless and clear urination I’ve had in more than 10 years! It stunned me so much I couldn’t stop crying
tears of joy. I’m so pleased that I seem to be able to control my sphincter with only minor leakage throughout the day. My urine stream is clear and [I am] able to completely empty my bladder. To be able to do this, [Dr. Kella], I truly admire you! Thanks also to your staff. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU"
